8x8 Floral Cards

Although all of these cards are variations on  a theme, I have to say that they have been my favourite to make lately.

With four different layers of matting before the decoupage starts, the cards a very heavy once they are complete, but they have a very grand and elegant look, and it feels wonderful to be able to hand them to my friends on their special days, knowing the time that went into producing something, that has been chosen and laid out especially for their personalities.

8x8 card blanks are now my new favourite LOL.

I hope you like them as much as me.

Civil Partnership

My beautiful friends had their Civil Partnership this weekend, and it was the most lovely day, all based on a Disney theme.

I was able to find some copyright free clipart online, and used it to help create their special card.

Sympathy

P8260015

A chap at work lost his Mum this week.  We all wanted to show him that we were thinking of him, so I put this together for him.

Luck

I made this quick card, using my  Do crafts Favourites Edition Digital Designer.

I matted the image onto some green swirl paper and placed it all onto a tall white card blank.

A Little Art Deco

I bought this little lady at the craft show when I went with the girls in January.

P7250021

She turned out really well, and with the extra touch of glitter that I added to her, is really very elegant.

Diamond Wedding Anniversary

I was asked if I could make something for a Diamond Wedding Anniversary, and I had a few ideas, one being a pop up diamond card, but in the end, the most simple was the most effective.

I used a tall card blank, trimmed one side off, and using my Tonic Solutions edge trimmer cut hearts down the rear of the card.

I then covered the rear of the pattern with double sided tape, and rubbed ultra fine glitter into the pattern that was left showing on the front of the card.

The rear of the card was then covered in another sheet of paper to ‘tidy’ up the sight of the tape that was visible.

P7250019

I printed a sentiment onto photo quality card, and trimmed it, placing it on the narrow frontage of the card using 3d foam for extra dimension.

I finished it with some sticky gem stones.

A very pleasing effect I think.

Matting and Layering

Using one of my new acrylic stamps, my cuttlebug and my nestie, along with some ribbon, brads and a sentiment tag I pulled this together as a first attempt, and was really please with the result.

A Little Doolicraft

Whilst visiting Trago a little while ago, I bought a card making set from Doolicraft.  It contained various decoupage sheets, 8 card blank, envelopes and miscellaneous cards and papers.  All in all a really good bargain.

I opened the box on about 4 different occasions before I got the inspiration to do anything with them, and then suddenly, I got it together and came up with these

Then there are some generic that can have labels attached as I am asked for them.

All in all, not a bad set to buy, and so far everyone seems to love the cute look.

I don’t really think they are my style, and probably won’t make them again, but I think that they were a good buy at the time.

Aperture Bear

This little chap was in a kit I bought from Trago a few months ago.

I needed a birthday card for Elaine, and though this would be something different.

I placed the decoupaged tree and bears on the outside of the aperture, and placed coloured paper on the inside to tone it all together.

I was quite please with the results.

P6100003

I used a gate fold cream card blank and papermania background papers matted onto gold mirri card.

The main image was from Robert Adams CD-ROM.

I was really pleased with the finished effect.

Congratulations! we love you both x

Flying in Formation

It’s Paul’s Dad’s birthday on 3rd May, and as he loves his wartime/antique aircraft, I decided on these Anita’s toppers.

On their own they looked a little plain, and so, using the idea from the centre stepper cards that I have been making, I created a template for a side stepper that would accommodate the size of the toppers that I had.

P5010002

Once this was done, I took some navy blue matting and layering card from by stock and used 3 pieces to add some colour contrast to the white card blank that I had used.

I stacked the images on each layer, getting smaller towards the front.  Hopefully creating a flying formation effect.

The sentiment went side on for a change.

I was quite pleased with the effect, and hope he will like it.

Happy Birthday Mel.

In Sympathy

P5010013

I always find making sympathy cards very difficult, but have to say the images on this beautiful disc are making it very easy!

Once more, another card for the School Fayre

Friendship

P5010008

My Black and Gold CD-Rom came into it’s own for this card.

I used a tall white card blank.

Once I had designed the image on screen, I printed it off and matted it onto silver card, before mounting it onto 3d foam pads and then onto the card blank.

A Flower For You

P5010005

Another little 5x5 card.  Simple but effective with the extra floral decoupaged over the original.

Pretty in Pink

P5010004

A few little gems added to the image on this simple card

Bouquet of Roses

Another hedgy hedgehog, this time with a bouquet of roses.

P5010003

Pretty Little Hedgehog

Another from my CD-Rom, this time using a little hedgehog as my central image/decoupage.

P5010002

I used 5x5 do-crafts recycled card blanks as the base for each of these square cards.

Mint Sauce!

I’m trying to get my stock together, as Tracey has asked if I would like to share a stall with her in June at a local school fete.

P5010001

This little baa lamb was on my CD-Rom.  I put her together in the same way as I did the little piggy card.

She turned out quite cute, so I made a couple.  What do you think?

A Bouquet For My Friend

P4260002

The Garden Steps CD-Rom was the order of the day for the card I wanted to make for Liz.

I had decided to make a centre stepper card, and chose this bold red flower design that gives the effect of a garden bouquet sat on your sideboard or window sill.

P4260003

I was really pleased with how well it turned out, and promptly got it into the post box for her birthday on the 29th.

Happy Birthday Liz, I hope you have a wonderful day x.

Piggy In The Middle

It was Duncan’s birthday a short while ago and  I decided to use a little cute piggy on the centre of his card, mainly because of an in joke related to work!

P4120001

I used a CD-ROM where you create you entire card on your computer screen and then print it off and glue to the front of a card blank.

I printed the picture twice, and cut the centre image out and decoupaged it onto the top of the original, therefore adding some dimension to the card.

Hope you had a good one ‘dwarling’.  mwah, mwah!

Mothers Day 2012

My friend got the Favourites Edition Do crafts Digital Designer CD-ROM free in one of her craft magazines, and lent it to me to try out.

What a fantastic disc it is for a freebie!

I was able to create this digital image with the software, using separate backing papers, characters, embellishments and borders. I then re-printed the ribbon border with the sentiment banner and decoupaged it on top of the original giving some dimension to the card.

Hope you liked it Mum x
