Speedboats

It's Adrian's birthday on Tuesday, and I wanted to make him a card with a Harley Davison on it, as he loves his motor bikes..... needless to say, I had not got a motor bike decoupage kit, so he will be getting a speed boat instead LOL

I've not used these decoupage papers before, and was quite pleased with the result, even if it was a little uninspired background wise from me, but I really need to get out and buy some more background papers etc.

Having cut each of the 4 decoupage elements out, I layered them with 3D foam, and matted them onto some silver card stock, before adding it to the dark blue pearled card blank. I then added the metal Happy Birthday embellishment as a finishing touch.

It will be posted today, and hopefully arrive in time for his birthday.

Let Us Begin

And so, now you have seen a selection of what I have made in the past.

From now on, as I create a card, I shall post it, along with the details of how I made it, and using the correct date stamp and time

Until then...... Keeeeeep Crafting! LOL

New Blog

Hi there..... having blogged for a long long time now, it comes as second nature. However, up until now I have only ever blogged the occasional card that I have created, and these have gone on my main site: http://www.cornish-beachbrummie.blogspot.com/ I then saw that Jordiegirl had created a separate site dedicated purely for her cards, and so Card Craft by Jo was born!
I'm not saying that I like to copy other people, but when they have a good idea you can't ignore it. So here we are.
I shall place photo's of what I have created, and would appreciate any comments, good or bad. If I know something works and is liked, I can use the same format again and again with just a tweak here and there.
Let us begin.....

Godchild

For this I used a dark blue pearl card blank, some pale blue mulberry paper, silver border peel offs, and baby buttons.

I took a picture of my Godchild and created a frame from silver card stock and completed it with a small padded teddy bear, and ABC peel offs for the wording Godchild.

Quite inspired for me, considering I had only had an operation a few days before LOL

Shoe-aholic

I used a pearled card blank, die cut pink stiletto's, metallic pressed metal Happy Birthday and Fan decals and and peel off stickers for the name.
The heart paper, and pink card I already had in my box of tricks.
The idea came from one of my favourite craft sites, who offer designs for free - mad about cards.

Strictly Dress-Up

This is absolutely one of my favourites, and I have made it 3 or 4 times now, despite it being very fiddly and taking a good couple of hours to do

Variations For Mothers Day

These lovely papermania embellishments were too good a bargain to miss, and they came together beautifully with some more downloaded paper from Mad About Cards

Easter Cards

These cute chick cards were taken from the ideas page on Mad About Cards (the link is on my sidebar). The background paper was a free download from their website..... very effective I think.
These sparkly toppers came from Hobbycraft - I was a regular visitor to HC when I lived in Birmingham, but I now have to wait until we are passing Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, as this is my nearest store now..... 3 hours drive away!

They make a lovely card though I think. - I used free downloaded papers from Mad About Cards again for the background

New Baby

These were some of my first attempts at card making, and using mulberry paper was a big learning curve, as no matter what you use to fix it to the card, you can always see the glue.....

Some More Christmas Recycling

Some of the cards that were given this Christmas were too nice to bin, and as a crafter it's not something that comes naturally, so here they are, revamped and reusable for next year.
