Civil Partnership

My beautiful friends had their Civil Partnership this weekend, and it was the most lovely day, all based on a Disney theme.

I was able to find some copyright free clipart online, and used it to help create their special card.

Karen and Dave’s Big Day

Paul’s sister married Dave yesterday, and this is the card that I made for them.

I used a gate fold cream card blank and papermania background papers matted onto gold mirri card.

The main image was from Robert Adams CD-ROM.

I was really pleased with the finished effect.

Civil Partnership

A colleague of mine, let slip that she and her partner of many years had made it legal, and had a civil partnership just before Christmas.

I could not have been more happier for her, and so, used my occasional CD-ROM once more to make a card that I hoped would be suitable for them.

Being a squeezee card, it is freestanding, and it makes quite an impact when you see an A5 version sat there on the table top.

We all signed the back of it before handing it over.

The following day, she came to see me with a huge smile on her face, and said that her partner wanted to tell me that it was a stunning card, and they loved it.

I was thrilled!

Congratulations Cards

I had printed these images before my printer went dry. I had been given them by a friend and wanted to make use of them a few more times as they are so lovely

By only using the words Congratulations, I have left the door open for them to be used as a Wedding card or an Engagement card. The appropriate wording can be added to the insert, once it is needed.

Anniversary Rings

Although this is a variation on a theme, to the Ruby Wedding card that I made not long ago, I think that it works really well, and gives a lovely finished card.

I gave this one to Sally-Ann and Mike for their Anniversary on Saturday, but I have already received orders from other people for the same or a very similar card.

It's lucky that it's a card that find enjoyable to make, LOL.

Ruby Anniversary Card

With a little bit of help form a wonderful bloggy friend - (you know who you are!) I was able to create this Ruby Anniversary card for Sharon and Mike.

I used a cream pearlescent card blank for the background, and red card stock run through the cuttlebug for the top and bottom border.

The image is where my friend came in, as I had nothing appropriate. This was mounted to create a matt, and layered onto the blank.

I typed the sentiment on the PC and chose a font that worked with the look of the card.

Inside I created an insert using a verse from a website that offers copyright free insert wording ideas. The left hand detail was created using some more red card that I put through my Martha Stewart deep edge cutter, and then attaching the the left of the insert.

I was very pleased with the result and, once I gave it to Sharon, I know she liked it too.

Ruby Rose

Our friends Sharon and Mike are celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary on 30 May 2010 and so I made cards for them.

This was a download paper I was given, that I fixed to some ruby red textured card, and cut away the archways

I then layered up the Rose using 3d foam pads and added some gloss using my sakura pen.

When I showed it to Sally-Ann and Mike, they said they would like to give it to Sharon and Mike from them, as they had bought a rose called Happy Anniversary for them.

Very appropriate, we thought.

Wedding Day

I made this for Alison and Paul who get married on 10th May 2010.

I used a deep purple pearl finish card blank, and placed a strip of lilac mulberry paper that I tore using the water and brush method, for a rough edge effect.

On this I added a piece of pink ribbon across the length of the card, using double sided tape.

I then used a paper from my store in a darker shade of lilac, and layered on this some pale lilac paper that I had added a peel off to, and cut around for a more interesting finish.

I printed some sentiments on my brand new and totally awesome printer (my last one gave up the ghost at the end of January and I've been struggling along without one until this week!).

Once the sentiments were mounted onto silver card stock I positioned them on the card with 3d foam pads.

The finishing touch was to add the lilac gem stones over the body of the card and on the top left of the card next to the peel off.

I printed the insert in the same lilac as I used on the front of the card.

Fingers crossed all goes well for them on Monday.
