Civil Partnership

A colleague of mine, let slip that she and her partner of many years had made it legal, and had a civil partnership just before Christmas.

I could not have been more happier for her, and so, used my occasional CD-ROM once more to make a card that I hoped would be suitable for them.

Being a squeezee card, it is freestanding, and it makes quite an impact when you see an A5 version sat there on the table top.

We all signed the back of it before handing it over.

The following day, she came to see me with a huge smile on her face, and said that her partner wanted to tell me that it was a stunning card, and they loved it.

I was thrilled!

Making a start on Christmas Recycling

Yes - I know! We only just had christmas - But I have been handed loads and loads of preloved christmas cards from friends, so that I can reuse them and give them life once more

I may not have done many of them yet, but I have at least made a start LOL!

Friends Together

Back in the first week of the New Year, I had arranged with my friend that we would have a couple of hours together card making.

She had some waterfall cards given to her one birthday and had no idea what to do with them and even considered trashing them!

I was HORRIFIED! and told her so! - Hence the craft evening together LOL.

I only know about waterfall cards in principle, and have never seen one to look at let alone tried to make one, so it was a case of Lord help us please!

As it turns out, once we sat down together with the die cuts in front of us and reading the instructions, it did actually make sense. Suddenly the evening did not look like quite so much of a hit and miss thing, and we started to work our way through a pile of die cut cards and adding the waterfalls to some of Tracy's card blanks to complete the effect.

As you can see from the above image, by pulling the tab under the picture the waterfall starts to happen showing each image to the recipient of the card.

When her husband and young son came to collect her after playschool was over, we had managed to complete 12 cards between us in the hour and a half that we had been crafting.

Bless her, she left a dozen of the die cut sheets for me, for helping out, and over the next couple of days I put them together.

I'm afraid I forgot to take pictures whilst we were together, but here are the cards I made with the bits that she gave me.

It was a lovely couple of hours, and I'm very sure we shall be doing a similar thing very soon.

Forever Older

One of my bestest buds, Kelly, has a birthday on Friday. I used my Forever Friends Black and Gold CD-ROM to make this.

I used opalescent A4 card folded to make an A5 card, and then printed some backing papers, ribbons and embellishments.

The large images were altered by placing foam pads behind the frame and sitting it over the top of the image below to give a photo effect.

I printed the insert on the PC and personalised it with her name.

When Two Become One!

Our friends got engaged in the New Year, and, not having used my new Occasions squeezee CD-ROM very much, I wanted to see what they thought of this as their engagement card.

It seems it went down very well, and I have been asked to look at designs for the wedding stationary for them!

Baby Boy

On Boxing Day one of the girls from work had a little baby boy. Consequently my craft desk became very busy with baby cards!

The above was an A5 squeezee card, that we all signed in the office.

The other cards are just random ones that I made on the off chance that they may be needed!

Mum and baby are doing well, and hopefully we shall be seeing them both soon.
